The Rev. Brian Foos of St. Andrew’s College joins us once again to discuss the university, particularly with regard to the current landscape and what its future needs to look like. We discuss how that higher education today is very much a ruin of its former self. Truth, beauty, and goodness are not valued as they should be in the curriculum or in student life. Christians must make a transition to better models of learning–a pilgrimage through the wilderness. The best approaches will involve not only a commitment to attaining virtue and wisdom but will also include the difficulties of Christian community, in which we don’t simply run away from problems or ignore people, but instead confront sin and disorder while extending grace and mercy in the context of Christian fellowship and love.
